Vegan in Vermont Cookbook Club
Connect with others interested in a vegan diet, explore recipes by the cookbook author of the month, select and cook a dish, and enjoy a potluck vegan dinner with community, cooking recipes from the featured cookbook author of the month. Special guest speaker each month. Meets last Wednesday of each month, from 6-7:45 pm, at the New North End Branch Library in the Ethan Allen Shopping Center on North Ave unless otherwise specified. August 26 Guest Speaker: Tyler Doggett, UVM Philosophy Professor, will speak about veganism as an ongoing aspiration rather than as something that we can just achieve and be done with. This will take us to places far beyond food. Cookbook author of the month: Richa Hingle.

September 30 Guest Speaker: Carolyn Douglas, owner & operator of Fresh & Foraged. Carolyn teaches how to safely and sustainably gather wild plants and mushrooms. Cookbook author of the month: Jenné Clariborne.

October 28 Guest Speaker: Mateo Block, owner of Prophecy Chocolate, a vegan café in Morrisville and all vegan bean-to-bar chocolates. Mateo has extensive experience in organic agriculture, food forestry and permaculture. Cookbook author of the month: Linda Long.

November 18 Guest Speakers: April McIlwaine and Gabby Boyson work for the Intervale Food Hub--a program of the Intervale Center--that works to strengthen farm viability and food security locally and regionally. Cookbook author of the month: Angela Liddon.

December 16 Vegan Cookie Swap! No guest speaker or featured cookbook author this month. We will celebrate the season by sharing our favorite vegan cookie recipes. Each participant will bring 3 dozen cookies, the recipe, and a container to bring home an assortment of treats for the holidays. A light dinner will be provided.
