The Fletcher Free Library has reopened browsing and public access to all floors in the Adult and Teen areas. The library is following guidelines from the Governor, the Vermont Department of Libraries, and the City of Burlington. We are operating at limited capacity and room limits have been posted. The Tech Center is open with a limit of one session per day. The Youth Department is open for limited hours and fully open beginning July 6. Masks are required and hand sanitizer is available.

The Tech Center is open for one session daily per person.

An express walk-in print only station is available for your convenience without an appointment. You may also print by emailing reference@burlingtonvt.gov.


Online Resources

Your library card and pin number give you access to online resources such as eBooks, downloadable audio, streaming films & tv shows, online language classes and many other educational classes.


Item check-out

  • The Library's book drop is open 24/7. Materials are quarantined for a minimum of three days. The Miller Center drop box is still closed.
  • Automatic renewal policy for items that do not have holds on them, and suspension of all new fines.
  • We are happy to help get items for you by request!


Place a hold online & pick-up at the Front  Desk

Place holds online and come inside to our Front Desk to pick up your items, update your account, or make requests.


In-person requests 

Stop by our Help Desk during library hours (see above), and we'll get it for you. Don't have an exact title? We are happy to  help get a few items for you to browse by request (please limit 5 items).


Mystery Bundles

Select a theme and be surprised with a Kids Mystery Bundle.


Limited Browsing

Adult and Teen floors are open for browsing. Youth area is now open limited hours and will be fully open beginning July 6.


Outside Pick-up Service (OPS)

*Please use OPS only if you have health concerns that keep you from entering the building.* Available during our open hours for individuals requiring this service. Visit our OPS page to learn how to place holds and pick up your items.
