“The Wonderful World of Birds and Other Creatures”

Photography by Sharon Radtke

Explore your favorite birds and other wildlife through the photography of Sharon Radtke. This exhibit will include a wide variety of birds from water fowl, to songbirds, to owls. Sharon has also captured images of other critters in her yard, everything from a poisonous caterpillar to a River Otter. Enjoy!

About Sharon:

In September 2015, Sharon was diagnosed with a rare auto-immune disease and began taking pictures of birds as a distraction from the medications and treatments. Her goal was to document different species of birds on her 22 acre pond in Milton, Vermont. To date, she has documented 67 species of birds and continues to take photos every day of birds and other wildlife at Pond House. Ninety-five percent of her photographs have been taken in her yard and most others throughout Milton.

This is Sharon’s second exhibit at the Fletcher Free Library. Her photographs have also been shown at the Milton, Georgia, St. Albans, and Burnham Memorials libraries. Sharon’s bird photographs have been selected to be exhibited at the Birds of Vermont Museum in Huntington and the Missisquoi Wildlife Refuge Art Show in Swanton. Her work has also been exhibited at the Rose Law Firm in Essex Junction; Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans; Arts Alive and South End Art Hop in Burlington; and Biotek in Winooski.  Sharon participates in art shows throughout the State of Vermont and was chosen in 2018 as an “Emerging Artist” at the East Lansing Art Festival in East Lansing, Michigan.

Ms. Radtke is a member and serves on the Board of Directors of the Milton Artists’ Guild and is a member of the Vermont Hand Crafters, Inc.
