The purpose of the Reference Department is to help our patrons find information. We use a wide array of quality resources to provide the best possible information service. It is our intention to provide a high level of customer service to both walk-in patrons and telephone patrons. Reference Librarians also understand that not every one is comfortable using a computer. We will work with our patrons to find the information they need whether it's in a book, on a specialized database, the Internet, or in our automated card catalog.

— Search the NYT website's archives for articles back to 1996.  Full text articles from the past week are free; prior to that, abstracts are free and full-text articles are available for purchase.
Boston Globe — Search the Boston Globe website's archives for articles back to 1979.  Abstracts are free, access to full-text articles requires registration.
Dow Jones — From the publishers of the Wall Street Journal

Search the Burlington Free Press Index — Retrieves citations of articles from the Burlington Free Press and the Rutland Herald.
