Get
a Clue…At Your Library! THE FLETCHER FREE LIBRARY’S 2007 SUMMER READING PROGRAM |
|
WHEN IT IS: The Summer Reading Program begins June 18 and ends August 8. Signups begin at 9:00 a.m., Monday, June 18 and continue at the Fletcher Free Library any time the library is open through Sunday, July 15. All reading must be completed by 4:00 p.m., Friday, August 3. WHERE IT IS: The Summer Reading Program takes place at the Fletcher Free Library at 235 College Street in downtown Burlington, and at parks and community centers around the city, including the Boys and Girls Club, King Street Youth Center, Roosevelt Park, Franklin Square, Bobbin Mills, Champ Camps, and others. All activities listed on the next two pages take place at the Library building, unless otherwise noted in the descriptions. CCTA has generously provided the library with free bus passes for children to use during the Summer Reading Program. If you need transportation to the library, please let us know, and we’ll get passes to you. HOW IT WORKS: The Summer Reading Program is FREE and open to anyone entering grades K-8. When you sign up, you will sign a contract to read at least 10 hours during the seven weeks of the Reading Program (about 15 minutes a day). You will receive a reading log to take home and keep track of your reading time. We encourage you to visit the library each week (please bring your reading log) to report on books you have read, get your log stamped and receive a small prize. Also, please come to the great FREE activities listed on the next two pages. PRIZES: Readers will receive a small prize each week, a free t-shirt after reading for one hour, and coupons for free treats at the end of the summer. You can also win free books and other great prizes including a brand new bicycle and bike helmet! WE WISH TO THANK our generous sponsors, including many local businesses, for helping to make our Summer Reading Program possible. The Friends of the Fletcher Free Library and the Vermont Department of Libraries also graciously provided us with funds and materials. REGISTRATION FOR ACTIVITIES: Space is limited for some activities. Registration for activities begins June 18. All groups must receive permission to attend any program from Rebecca Goldberg or Beth Wright at 865-7216. In
accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, we will make
every effort to make our programs accessible to people with disabilities.
To aid us in making accommodations, please contact us a minimum of two
