Help for Logging Into the Gale Databases A common cause of database log-in problems is the settings in your web browser. This help section guides you to a simple solution to your log-in problem. While the instructions may sound complicated, a couple of clicks in specific areas will solve your log-in problem. The Gale database uses cookies and java programs with the web browsers Internet Explorer or Netscape to interact with their web pages and to provide you information. Therefore, your web browser needs to accept cookies and have Java enabled. Each version of a web browser, whether it is Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator, has a particular way to set the acceptance of cookies and to enable Java. So the first thing you have to know is the version number of your web browser. The second thing you have to do is the make the appropriate changes for your particular web browser. The following steps outline these procedures. If you have difficulty with these instructions, please call our reference librarian at (802) 865-7217.
